Ingredients

  • 2 carrots
  • 2-3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 5-6 cloves garlic
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2-3 glasses of water
  • oregano
  • basil
  • olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • cooked whole wheat pasta

Instructions

  1. Pour water into a deep pan, add olive oil and ground beef, and break the beef into small chunks with a spoon. Add salt to taste and bring to a boil.
  2. Blend the carrots, one glass of water, and tomato paste in a blender. Add this mixture to the ground beef. Stir in the tomato sauce, oregano, and garlic. Let it cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and stir to combine. Garnish with additional garlic and fresh basil.
  4. Ready!

How to cook the pasta?

  • For perfect whole wheat pasta, use a large pot with lightly salted, boiling water (vigorous, rolling boil before adding the pasta.).
  • Add olive oil and the pasta, stir, so it does not stick together and cook according to package directions, testing for "al dente" texture (it takes around 9-13 min).
  • Drain in a colander
