Healthy Chocolate Oatmeal Muffins
I think I mentioned we’re trying to eat gluten-free right now, so we’ve been experimenting a lot in the kitchen. Usually there are gluten-free oats involved and we have no regrets. These chocolate oatmeal muffins are super delicious, have no flour in them and I’m pretty sure you can make them sugar-free as well, simply use stevia or another sweetener of choice.
We kinda made them like a version of Black Forest cake by adding some pitted fresh cherries, so if you’re craving gluten-free and dairy-free Black Forest chocolate cake – try these muffins. You can top them with whipped coconut or eat them like this!

Healthy Chocolate Muffin Ingredients
These are the ingredients we used to make our muffins:
- eggs
- cacao powder
- Brown sugar
- Butter (you can also use coconut oil for a dairy-free version)
- ⅓ cup milk of choice
- Baking soda
- Vanilla
- cherries
How To Make Healthy Chocolate Muffins
To make these tasty chocolate muffins all you need to do is add the ingredients to a bowl and mix together. It’s super easy and we’ve got proof that even a toddler can do it.
Tips
So, we forgot to buy cupcake liners and I had to improvise by cutting some parchment paper into six squares. It turned out to be a bit messy and overwhelming for the parent, so we split the mixture and made 6 muffins and a small chocolate cake with the rest of the mixture. Tastes the same and can 100% recommend.
Some other variations I might want to try with this muffin recipe is adding chocolate chips or nuts.
I hope you enjoy it, here’s the recipe.
