A pet tornado in a bottle is one of the easiest and most satisfying science experiments you can do at home. No expensive kits. No special equipment. Just a few things you probably already have in your kitchen and five minutes of your kids’ time.
Pet tornado in a Bottle – Materials
- A clear jar with a lid
- A spoonful of dish soap
- Water
- Glitter
- A few drops of food coloring (Food coloring is optional but it adds a magic to it.)
That’s it. Seriously.
How to Make Your Pet Tornado
Fill the jar about three-quarters full with water. Add your spoonful of soap. Drop in the glitter and a drop or two of your favorite food coloring. Seal the lid tightly. Then swirl the jar in a fast circular motion and watch the magic happen:
